CHILLICOTHE - A pedestrian was killed in an early Monday morning crash on North Bridge Street near the Shawnee Square intersection.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Terry Roof, 59, of Chillicothe, was crossing North Bridge Street near Stewart Road at 1:29 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound 1998 Dodge Ram driven by Matthew Novak, 31, of Bainbridge.

Roof was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Novak was uninjured.

The patrol continues to investigate the crash. Chillicothe police and fire assisted at the scene as did the Ross County Sheriff's Office.
